Do I have to attend every hearing?
As a rule, no. Representation through an attorney spares you attendance at the ordinary hearings. There are situations in which the court orders personal appearance, for the examination of the parties for example, and attendance is then mandatory. We announce you in advance whenever that applies.
How do I find out what happened at a hearing?
After each hearing we transmit to you what was decided, what follows next and what needs to be prepared before the following date. Case files are also visible on the courts' portal, but the portal shows only the short outcome, without context.
Who pays the litigation costs if I win?
The losing party can be ordered to bear the litigation costs of the winning party, including the attorney's fee. The court may however reduce a fee it considers disproportionate, so recovery in full is not guaranteed.
Do you take over cases started by another lawyer?
Yes. We study the file, check what has been done and which deadlines remain available, and we tell you honestly what can still be done from the current position. Sometimes the answer is that the position is difficult, and we prefer to say so at the beginning.
